"Kantang: A Journey Through Time"
This trip is perfect for those who are passionate about history, local culture, and the charm of classic railway travel.

Begin your journey from the train station, heading toward Kantang Railway Station—a historic landmark known for its iconic pinkish-red wooden architecture. This vintage station is one of the top check-in spots for nostalgic travelers and photography lovers.

After a short rest from the journey, continue to the Kantang Historical Learning Center, an educational hub that tells the story of Kantang's golden age—its role as a bustling port town, a vital railway terminus, and its contributions to southern Thai history.

Next, visit the First Rubber Tree in Thailand, a living monument that marks the beginning of Thailand’s rubber industry. Enjoy the peaceful shade, read the historical plaque, and take photos with this symbolic tree.

On the next day, head to the Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi Museum, a well-preserved colonial-style home turned museum. It houses personal belongings and historical records of Phraya Ratsadanupradit, a key figure in the modernization of southern Thailand, particularly known for introducing rubber cultivation to the country.

Conclude your day by strolling through the quiet streets of Kantang, where time seems to slow down. Admire the charming old buildings, interact with friendly locals, and soak in the serene atmosphere before taking the train back—carrying with you not only souvenirs but also meaningful memories and a deeper appreciation of southern Thai heritage.

Description
"Para rubber trees were first planted in Thailand (then Siam) after 1882. The cultivation expanded from 22 trees to different parts of Asia. In 1899, Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahisornpakdee (Kosimbi Na Ranong) brought the first rubber trees to Kantang, Trang Province. He trained local leaders to teach rubber planting methods, which led to widespread cultivation. This 'rubber fever' expanded to 14 provinces in southern Thailand. Today, Thailand has around 12 million rai (4.74 million acres) of rubber plantations, mainly in the south, east, and northeast."
