The State Railway of Thailand, in collaboration with King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), organized the 7th edition of the "Doctor on Train" event from August 27-28, 2024 at Thung Song Junction Railway Station in Nakhon Si Thammarat. This event provided free health check-ups and disease screening services to local residents, railway employees, and their families in Thung Song and nearby areas.
The "Doctor on Train" initiative began in 2022 as part of the railway's commitment to social responsibility. It involves a team of specialists from the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) and Burachat Chaiyakorn Hospital, offering comprehensive medical services at no cost. Over the past year, this program has expanded to various regions, including Chumphon in the South, Uttaradit and Lampang in the North, and Nakhon Ratchasima and Saraburi in the Northeast. This outreach has enabled over 2,500 people to access public health services and provided follow-up care to more than 100 individuals.
